Michael W. Connors, Esq., and Pamela M. Burdick, Esq., co-chaired the 2009 Ft. Lauderdale "Elder Concert", a one-day conference for elder care professionals in Florida held March 27, 2009.
Conference attendees enjoyed a warm up of "chair yoga", followed by a plenary panel discussion moderated by his Honor Judge Mel Grossman. Breakout workshop sessions included presentations on hospice care, special needs trusts, prosecution of financial exploitation of the elderly, and reverse mortgages.
Presented by the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, the "Elder Concert" focused on a multidisciplinary approach to elder care, and brings together accountants, facility administrators, elder law attorneys, financial planners, geriatric care managers, guardians, and social workers.
